A 6’1 guard, Alexander is coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged a team-high 9.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for a young West team. Alexander says he hopes a strong summer with the Kansas Hoggs 16U squad will help him and the Chargers put together a breakout season.
“Playing with my summer team is cool it prepared me playing against the best so when I get to high school,” he says. “I’m already prepared to play against the best.
“I worked on my outside shot and different combinations to get into a jumper or get to the basket.”
He says his junior varsity coach has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“My JV coach from freshman year has been the biggest influence because he was a Division 1 player and showed me the things they did at his school,” he says.
A fan of Kevin Durant and RJ Barrett, Alexander says he looks to take aspects of both player’s games and make it his own.
“They are people I enjoy watching because I have the same length as them and there both scores but also can pass the ball and rebound well too,” he says. “I take Kevin Durant’s pull up and get to the basket and RJ Barrett I take his passing ability and him playing in transition.”
