A 6’1 guard, Krueger isn’t a fashy player, preferring to do the little things his team needs from him to be successful. He can knock down outside shots and can provide a scoring punch when needed.
He says competing for SSA Elite this offseason has helped him stay in the gym and remain focused on what lies ahead.
“(Play for SSA Elite) has helped me stay in the gym as much as possible and prepare for my final year of highschool basketball and with that I have been able to get stronger with the ball and better on my on ball defense,” he says. “I’ve really been working on my shot a lot, trying to take it from a good shot to a knock down all the time kind of shot,” he says.
Expectations are high for a Washburn Rural team that went 23-2 and finished second at the Kansas Class 6A state championships last season, but the Blues have big shoes to fill after the graduation of several key seniors.
“(Placing second in 6A0 was a really good experience that was a lot of fun to share with my teammates,” Krueger says.
A fan of Steph Curry, Krueger says his dad has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“He’s sways supported me in everything basketball and introduced me to the game,” Krueger said. “He played college basketball so it’s always been a part of my life.
“I like watching steph curry play and I’ve tried to model my game, more particularly shooting after him because he’s the greatest shooter of all time and he competes hard and doesn’t let his size be negative towards his game.”
