Braeden Sato (2020 Sunset) – Sato was the tournament’s high scorer and it wasn’t because he was dunking all over the place. The rising senior was hitting shots from all over the floor and in addition to points he led the camp in three-point field goals made – some of which were well beyond the line. Sato has a quick release with a very high arc and he has the ball-handling ability to create space for himself.
Brandon Hopson (2021 Roosevelt) – Hopson is probably more of a scorer than a shooter but he certainly hit his share of long range bombs. The rising junior knows how to get his shot off and it’s a smooth shot with nice rotation. Hopson also can really get on a roll from the outside.
Lamar Washington (2022 Jefferson) – Washington has a bit of a strange sideways rotation on his shot, but it still goes in so there’s not too much to complain. The rising sophomore can not only shoot the three but shoot it from well beyond the line, and he has an extremely quick lefty release that’s hard to block.
Casey Graver (2020 Lake Oswego) – If he had a wide open look, you could pretty much count on Graver sinking the shot. One thing the rising senior also knows how to do is use the ball or head fake to get the defender in the air, reposition himself, and then sink the jumper.
Gage Koenders (2020 King’s Way) – King’s Way had several guys who could shoot the ball but Koenders made the most threes. The rising senior loves to shoot threes and has great awareness of the line as he often moved his feet to make sure he would get credit for three if he made the shot.
Damontae Burns (2021 Clackamas) – Burns didn’t hit a huge percentage but there were times when he got hot from the outside. The rising junior has very nice form and can not only hit the catch-and-shoot but use his quick dribble to create space for his shot. Burns seemed to play a little better when things were wide open and not within the set offense.
Drew Carter (2021 Tigard) – To be quite honest it wasn’t the greatest shooting performance by Carter – he seemed to miss many shots short – but he made enough to qualify for this list. Carter has picture-perfect form on his jumper, to the degree that whenever he shoots it you think it’s going in.
