AHSAA ELITE 100: 5 2020 Prospects to Watch

<p>This weekend 100 athletes will be present at the Elite 100. Around 50 of those athletes will be 2020 prospects. This is a big opportunity for these prospects to compete and measure up well against their peers. Well known names like Colby Jones, Rongie Gordon, Tommy Murr, and Kam Woods will be present. Here are 5 2020 prospects to watch at the Elite 100:</p> <p><strong>Kam Woods (Pinson Valley)- </strong>This is a big opportunity for Woods. He was inconsistent through 12 EYBL performances. The crafty guard needs to measure well and perform consistently. Woods is one of the most explosive scorers in the 2020 class, but coaches want to see him improve his consistency and efficiency.</p> <p><strong>Cole Larue (McGill-Toolen)- </strong>Larue will have the chance to compete head to head with some very talented bigs at the Elite 100. This is the perfect opportunity for the 6'9 post to show he can compete with the best. Larue is more athletic than he looks, and this kid will be one of the most skilled bigs at the event.</p> <p><strong>Kobe Simmons (Talladega)- </strong>The 4A Player of Year hasn't made much noise over the spring. The 6'4 wing can play multiple positions and should measure well against other perimeter players. Simmons has an opportunity to be one of the biggest diamonds in the rough. </p> <p><strong>Trey Bonham (UMS-Wright)- </strong>Bonham has been on fire through his team's playdates and team camp runs. The 5'11 point guard has scored from everywhere on the court and put up monster numbers. This is his opportunity to take the reigns as 2020's best point guard.</p> <p><strong>Giancarlo Valdez (Decatur Heritage)- </strong>Valdez has been a fast riser through the spring and early summer. The 6'3 combo guard has shown the ability to torch defenses, make plays for others, and impact the game defensively.
