Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the events top forwards in the 17U division.
10-Alex Littlejohn, 6’4, 2021, Bishop Carroll, Pray and Play
He flows in and out of the paint and can defend and score when given the chance. He can hit 3-pointer and score neat the basket. He handles the ball well in transition and passes well across the court. He has good size, in game strength and a good feel for the game.
14-Rayshaun Riddick, 6’3, 2020, Manhattan, SSA Elite 17U White
A strong post/wing combo who can handle the ball and continue plays through heavily occupied areas. He plays hard and physical. He pushes his way inside and uses his strength to score against taller opponents inside the paint. A solid team player that’s ready to make a play and is looking for a steal.
4-Ethan Stuhlsatz, 6’4, 2021, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, Wichita Padres
Another forward/wing with size and length. Stuhlsatz uses his body nicely to create space and then passes out or looks to finish. He can handle the ball some and slashes nicely. He uses his length to get his shot off and looks to pass out or back inside.
24-Andrew Piper, 6’4, 2020, Lawrence Free State, Grandstand Elite
A good body inside who protects his partner’s weak side and sets his feet and takes charges when his opponent tries to bully him. He blocks shots, rebounds on both ends of the floor and can make jump shots well. Plays with a nice rhythm.
