The event does a tremendous job of bringing in talent from all three shoe circuits and puts them up against each other. We also see under the radar guys from non shoe circuit teams. Below is part 1 of my standouts from the event.
2019 6’5 Khyree Temple | District WAWG
Temple has not been able to show off his crazy athleticism and skill as much as he would like due to injuries but this past weekend in Hampton he made himself known. Temple is one of the most athletic players I have seen on the east coast and was throwing every down at the rim with authority. He made shots and also finished strong in transition. He is likely going the junior college route and will definitely have a high major recruitment.
2021 6’6 Logan Jagadsinski | SJ Hoops Elite
I know it is early but talk about a sleeper in the 2021. The Jersey product put on a show in front of me Friday night and drew a lot of peoples attention. Jagadsinski has a tremendous motor and plays hard on every possession for both sides of the ball. He ran the floor well, hit free throws and showed he can pass well too. He is definitely a high energy guy that a college program can rely on to hit open shots. Not to mention, he was playing up this weekend and that did not seem to phase one bit.
2019 5’11 Fah’mir Ali | WE R1 Aiken
Ali takes the title for most fun to watch this past weekend. There has not been a lot of other prospects this spring that can make a no look pass look so easy like Ali does. He was leaving the crowd in awe possession after possession. He can do more than pass though, he showed that he has deep range as he made multiple three-pointers in my viewing. Size is definitely an issue but Ali seems like a winner and someone that will give it his best every game. Radford was the latest school to offer the unsigned senior.
2022 Jayden Epps | Boo Williams
Epps continues to progress into being a high major point guard at the college level. Already having a strong body, he demonstrates each time I see him that he can run an offense well, giving his team a strong opportunity to win each game they play. He can go downhill at a high level which also allows him to get to the free throw line. Defensively he already has a good understanding of how to play which is is a plus right now for his age. Providence offered last week as Epps will have a big time high major recruitment.
2019 Daeshawn Eaton | Crusader Nation
I was told by a D3 coach to watch this kid and I am glad I did. Newman was great in a win against Team Richmond Garner Road. He was beating guys off the dribble and finishing on bigger guys and really continued doing that a lot during the game. Only standing at 6’2 he was not afraid at challenging bigger defenders. He also hit some long jumpers and played good defense by getting some steals and blocking shots, which reminds us that he plays bigger than his size.
