Be sure to check out our site for daily coverage of the Bash in the Desert event and follow us on twitter for live updates @PrepHoopsAZ and @CoachDomAZ! Here are the day 3 standouts:
Dayton Harris 6’2 G The Show 17U 2020
Dayton Harris was absolutely dishing out assists left and right. He was dishing them out to whoever ordered them up! This might have been the best I’ve ever seen Harris play. He is known for his elite passing and vision and that lives up to the hype. He has high level vision and always makes the right pass. He also shot the ball extremely well. He usually doesn’t call his own number but when he does, he can hit it.
Matthew Rivera 6’4 G GamePoint 17U 2020
Rivera is a smooth pure shooter. He has great size and strength, which allow him to get his shot off any time he pleases. If he gets an open look, he will make it. Off the dribble, he was doing some solid work as well. He likes the dribble pull up and hit it repeatedly.
Isaiah Brody 6’7 G Team Inspire 16U 2021
I’ve seen Brody play for a couple of different club teams so far this summer but today was by far his best performance. He shot the ball a lot better than I have ever seen him shoot it. He tends to over dribble and is a liability on defense but his offensive game is solid. He has tight handles and a smooth stroke.
Brandon Jessie 6’4 G Coastal Elite Slayers 16U 2021
This kid makes my list for one reason…hustle. He crashed the glass harder than I’ve ever seen anyone crash the glass. The majority of his points came off of tip-ins/put backs. He lacks a perimeter shot but is a strong slasher. He is also a more than capable defender.
Joseph Ogbebor 6’4 G Coastal Elite Slayers 16U 2021
If you need a defender, look to Ogbebor. He has a great body and great strength. Mix those traits with his speed and you have an elite defender. He was absolutely shutting kids down on defense. He really gets into the players and makes them uncomfortable, constantly applying pressure.
