PF Kendrick Tchoua (Benet – 2019)
Tchoua is the lone unsigned senior of this group. The Benet Academy product saw minutes in three of four games. He had a nice finish one play. Physical player on the block and is a tough post defender. Junk yard dog type of four man at the next level. One of the better posts still on the board in 2019.
PG Donovan Newby (Bloom – 2020)
Newby was the heart and soul of the Wolves this weekend. He was the calming force in all four games. Was rock solid with his consistency as a scorer and distributor. Got others involved with crisp dishes. Pull up jumpers and runners on point. Improving three point shot. Averaged 6.3 points per game.
SF Will Wolfe (Aurora Christian – 2020)
Wolfe is currently the highest ranked 2020 prospect on the Illinois Wolves. The junior is a tough as nails wing that is so fundamentally sound. His jumper was on point as he drilled them from three and pulling up in the 15 foot range. Continues to improve his ball handling which allows him to get his shot off with ease. Excellent elevation on his jump shot both off the catch and off the bounce. Made several huge hustle plays throughout the weekend. He had 19 points in their Saturday morning win and for the weekend averaged 9.5 points a game.
SF Kyndall Davis (Bogan – 2020)
Davis is a strong and versatile 6’5” wing that has athleticism and length. Potential on the defensive end. Had a dunk off a bullet pass for his only bucket of the weekend.
PF Jordan Kwiencinski (Loyola – 2020)
The Loyola 6’8” forward didn’t get a ton of tick over the weekend. When he was in there he grabbed a couple offensive rebounds.
PF Bennett Kwiencinski (Loyola – 2020)
Solid weekend for Bennett going for 3 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. Projectable four man at 6’8” that proved to be scrappy on the glass. Despite his lack of strength he boxed out and grabbed rebounds. Offensively he had a few put backs. Also flashed some face up skills on a rip to the hoop.
C Brandon Lieb (Deerfield – 2020)
Lieb is a legit sized center at 6’11” with athleticism being able to run the floor. Only played in one game and didn’t record any stats.
SG Max Christie (Rolling Meadows – 2021)
It was a late night game for the home squad Illinois Wolves on the first night, but it was worth staying for as the top 2021 prospect in the state of Illinois put on an absolute show in the second half. Showed flashes in the first half on a skilled up and under move along with a three. He got it rolling in the second half in a major way! Everything was falling for the 6’5” 5-star talent. He drilled crisp one dribble pull ups, made an array of threes from all around the arc. Clean and picture perfect form on his shot. Also got to the hoop several times on slick drives where he was fouled. Christie went for 30 points. On the weekend he averaged 20.8 points on 51% from the field and 43% from beyond the arc. Also chipped in 4.3 boards a game!
C Chris Hodges (Schaumburg – 2021)
The best 2021 big man in the state of Illinois closed out his great weekend with another statement performance on Sunday. Physical post that has excellent low post moves. Fluid footwork making quick and aggressive moves when he got the ball on the block. Sealed off his man for a slam. Right handed hook shot. Really high level rebounder against players a year older than him. Went for 9 points per game (77% from the field) and 4.3 rebounds a contest.
PG Anthony Sayles (Niles Notre Dame – 2021)
Sayles is the top 2021 point guard in the state of Illinois. He played off the ball quite a bit throughout the weekend with his best game coming on Sunday. Great speed in transition with the ball blowing past defenders with ease. Split the defense throughout including one explosive and-1. Also showed improved touch on his three point shot knocking down several triples. Averaged 6.8 points a game while connecting on 4-7 from beyond the three point line.
SF Louis Lesmond (Evanston – 2021)
Lesmond is getting used to the American travel team circuit after moving to Evanston this year where he put himself on the radar. The UAA was an eye opening experience for him seeing some of the top talent in the country. We are believers in what this 6’6” wing can bring to the table with his perimeter shooting long term. Really struggled however shooting it over the weekend only going 1-9 from deep.
PF Scottie Ebube (Mundelein – 2021)
Liked what this 6’8” physical post did at UAA. Although he was playing up a year he was one of the strongest players on the Wolves. He rebounded well in his area. Made an impact with his energy and toughness. Several offensive rebound put backs. Also had a sweet seal and score. Shoots a high percentage on his attempts. Scored 3.8 points per game going 7-10 from the field.
PG Conor Enright (Mundelein – 2021)
Enright played limited minutes in a pair of games. The bright spot for him was banking in a three pointer.
PG Denham Wojcik (La Lumiere, IN – 2021)
Wojcik is the lone out of state prospect on this team. The La Lumiere product is a crisp passer that has a high basketball IQ. Makes sound decisions with the ball. Can knock down runners and floaters for days. Rebounded very well considering he was one of the shorter players on the team. Scrappy on ball defender with active hands. 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
