RJ BLAKNEY | 6’5 F | GORETTI/TEAM THRILL
There’s no doubt that RJ Blakney is one of the best available prospects in the state of Maryland. While Blakney has several mid major offers, he is a high level athlete with a skill set that is still developing. If he can play to his full potential during the live period, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up at a high major program.
RASHEED COOLEY | 6’1 G | LACKEY/SOUTHERN MD ALL STARS
Rasheed Cooley is one of the DMV’s biggest sleepers. The skilled lead guard is being pursued by several D2 and D3’s, but will look to boost his stock this spring. There’s no doubt that he can make an impact for a small college early in his career at the next level, but the jury is still out as to whether he is a sure fire division one prospect.
RAHSAAN EDWARDS | 6’0 G | GORETTI/CBSA HOYAS
One of the few true point guards you will find available, Rahsaan Edwards can defend and run a team like a traditional floor general, but also score it like a modern day PG. Several D2’s are trying to secure his services, and he could thrive at that level. If he does find the right situation at the D1 level, Edwards could change the culture of a program with his leadership intangibles.
JORDAN HAIRSTON | 5’10 G | FLINT HILL/DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Jordan Hairston is one of the more skilled guards you will see, and he is taking the opportunity to showcase his talent with District Basketball Club this spring. While it’s likely that he will prep into 2020, Hairston could probably make some type of impact for a scholarship program if he decides to stay in his current class.
ANWAR GILL | 6’4 G | GONZAGA/DC PREMIER
Anwar Gill is a battle-tested, versatile and tough guard who will be a key cog for DC Premier this month. A handful of mid majors have offered Gill, but he has his sights set on high D1 basketball. He’ll need to make shots and be efficient with the ball if he hopes to achieve his goal.
GARY GRANT | 6’3 F | THOMAS STONE/SOUTHERN MD ALL STARS
A long, athletic forward with a great motor, Gary Grant is the perfect small college prospect who has proven to be a productive high school player. While there are some things that he needs to improve skill-wise, you can’t doubt his effort. Look for Grant to be one of the go-to guys for the Southern MD All Stars.
CHARLIE WEBER | 6’9 F/C | O’CONNELL/DC PREMIER
Charlie Weber is one of the best available bigs in the region as a result of his ability to make shots from the perimeter and rebound at a high level. One of the most underrated attributes that he possesses is athleticism. While there are a handful of mid major schools who would love to have Weber, we’re hearing that he might prep into 2020. This could benefit him in the long run as the additional year to develop physically might help him attract high major suitors.
