“Receiving the offers, it’s a dream that has come to reality and is very exciting,” Prince said. “I just have to have fun with the process and the game itself.”
The Redhawks won their straight state title nine days ago with Prince being the third leading scorer and second leading rebounder. Prince played several new roles this year for the Redhawks helping Minnehaha bring home gold. Again.
“This year’s state title was a more hands on experience compared to the past ones,” Aligbe stated. “I was a starter this year and I knew exactly what my role was and what I had to do to help my team win. I also had a lot of opportunities to show my strengths and that was very exciting to.”
Getting an offer from Minnesota is a badge of honor to the local stars and Prince now has his badge. Something he’s very proud of.
“My first thoughts on receiving the offer were that I wasn’t as surprised but still very thankful,” Aligbe said. “I felt this time would come a while ago but I’m still very thankful to have an chance to play for my home state when I choose schools.”
“One thing was that they (Minnesota) had some really big wins this year in their conference. Another thing is that it looks as if they are starting to change the culture a little bit by playing a more athletic type style.”
Prince said earlier in the year that Texas, Tulane, Purdue, Colorado State, and Marquette also showed interest. Illinois and Western Kentucky have already offered.
