The junior forward is a good rebounder in traffic. He has improved his handles being able to put the ball on the deck with more comfort. Can hit a three every now and then. His passing is an underrated part of his game that came on strong during the high school season.
Skeete spoke about his junior campaign at Waubonsie Valley.
“Really well. We haven’t played this well in about five years. We went 27-5 and to regionals. I played with great guys and I had a good season. My best year definitely.”
How did he play individually?
“I got better this year on defense. My coach trusted me to be a leader. I led them as a junior. I think I played well bringing the ball up, getting rebounds, and took it at the defense. We had a fun year.”
Skeete broke down his improvement as a player.
“I think my versatility. I can play the one through four. It was really cool because I could bring the ball up, get in the post, make the passes. Being able to do all that makes my game easier. I am working on my ball handling getting tighter with that. At the next level I have to get better with my handles and shooting. At Waubonsie I shot better at three point.”
How does playing with Hoops Intensity Training take his game to the next level?
“It frees me up and shows my high school coaches I can bring the ball up. Sophomore year I was more in the post. This year I was able to bring the ball up and do different things. With HIT they give me so much freedom and it helps with my confidence and game.”
He has heard from a few colleges.
“Lafayette called my coach at Waubonsie. La Salle. D2s Emporia State and Wisconsin Parkside. Ball State is talking to me as well.”
