Continue ReadingNashville shooting guard Carson Parker is one of the premier two guards in the 2020 class and a top southern Illinois prospect. Scores it with so much ease! Mid-range jumpers were on point all night when we saw him recently at the Southern Illinois Spring Skills Day! He is so good at just pulling up and elevating over defenders for scores. Size and strength to play at the low-major level for sure. Also is an athletic player getting to the rim on reverse layups along with being more active on the defensive end of the floor.
Parker talked with PHI about his season getting Nashville to the state title game in 2A.
“I think we have a lot of expectations this year so playing for a state championship was something we pushed for all season. I thought we had a good year and everyone contributed to our team.”
What was the experience like playing in Peoria?
“You can’t describe it. It is different than what everyone is used too. Bigger court, better players, a lot more fans, and a bigger stadium.”
Parker broke down where he saw progression in his game.
“I felt like my defense got a lot better defending the other team’s best players. Offensively I tried to get everyone involved with my passing. I shot the ball well, drove to the basket, take my man one on one. Improved all-around.”
The shooting guard will be running with the Illinois Bears on the PrepHoops Circuit.
“I think we have a pretty solid team this year with a lot of players coming back.”
He updated us on his recruitment heading into the spring.
“I have an offer from McKendree. Contact with Belmont and Minot State.”
McKendree landed his teammate in 2019 Bryce Bultman and is making him a priority in 2020.
“Coach Foster texts me every once in and a while to see how things are going.”
