The 6’0” point guard is super smooth with the ball in his hands and has an advanced feel for the game for a freshman. Sound passer and is the kind of point guard that players gravitate toward as the leader. His jump shot has great form, but he needs to speed up the shot which will help him get it off along with being more consistent making it. So many intriguing tools to work with here!
How would he describe his play as a freshman this past year?
“I think I played decent. I could have played better. It is all about the team and I think we played good. There were just a lot of tough teams in our conference.”
The Southwestern Conference was stacked including two teams in Belleville West and East St. Louis that won state. He talked about playing against those high level players.
“It was real cool. I had one highlight where I had a layup on EJ (Liddell).”
Where did he improve the most as the season went along?
“I think I grew attacking and being stronger at the basket.”
Burton spoke with PHI about what he feels are the strengths in his game.
“I am a good 15 foot shooter and can drive past any defender.”
What is Burton looking forward to this summer?
“This summer I am looking forward to getting wins and getting wins on the PrepHoops Circuit.”
