Here is the second set of the standout players from the 17u level:
Wynton Brown, Los Angeles Elite
Brown used his ability to run the floor with energy and purpose to beat opposing big men down the floor for easy paint touches and finishes. The 6-foot-7 forward displayed more confidence and aggressiveness when looking to score on the block and more physicality as a paint defender and defensive rebounder.
Los Angeles Elite center Wynton Brown was productive on both sides of the ball in helping lead his team to a 17u HUSTLESZN championship.Michael Frankling, Los Angeles Elite
Frankling won’t blow you away with speed or freakish athleticism, but the Gardena high school point guard always seemed to make the right plays with the game on the line. The 6-foot-1, class of 2020 product plays with good pace and patience which allows him to see the floor and use his basketball IQ to make plays for his teammates.
Alem Huseinovic, Powerhouse Hoops
Huseinovic was another high IQ player who understood how to run his team. The 6-foot-3 point guard out of Chaparral High in Arizona was always under control and knew when and where to deliver the ball to his teammates. Huseinovic didn’t lack scoring punch for himself as he probed the lane with good speed and balance and finished well around the basket.
Osasere Ighodaro, Powerhouse Hoops
Ighodaro is as bouncy and active of a forward as there is and he used that to his advantage on the offensive and defensive glass all weekend long. The 6-foot-9 forward out of Desert Vista High in Arizona has good hands, explodes quickly off the floor in traffic and finishes with power in the paint.
Darius Mason, YouBall Undefeated
Mason, an unsigned senior out of Pasadena High, is a physical and dynamic athlete when he gets downhill in transition. The 6-foot-4 forward can absorb and finish through contact both off the bounce and when slashing off the ball in the paint.
Hunter Ruck, Powerhouse Hoops
Ruck is on the traditional side of the modern big men and does the majority of his damage in the painted area. The 6-foot-9 forward/center has good hands and feet, establishes deep post position, and is a capable post defender and rim protector against driving guards.
