ECI Selects figures to be one of the better teams in North Dakota this spring as it draws a number of talented players out of Class A North Dakota.
Here is a quick look:
Guards: Jaiden Wright, Julian Benson, Cole Benson, Max Anderson
Jaiden Wright out of Dickinson and Julian Benson out of East Grand Forks (Minn.) are the primary ball handlers on this team and both guys have shown throughout the last year or two that they can produce as scorers and facilitators.
Cole Benson brings size to the perimeter for this group as he stands close to 6-foot-5. He’s got a lot of role-playing potential on this team as he’s a solid deep shooter and quality defender on the wing. He excels playing off the ball and does a lot of things well.
Max Anderson is a bit of an unknown because he didn’t get a lot of playing time for a senior-heavy Jamestown High School team this past winter but with the sheer amount of talent cycling through that program, he’s certainly not going to be overwhelmed by the moment.
Forwards: Tallon Klatt, Chuck Dubois, Justice Noel
Klatt had a decent junior year for Dickinson, averaging just less than 10 points and about 5.4 rebounds per game. At 6-foot-7, he’s the lone big man on this ECI team and will have to command the paint if the team is going to enjoy much success.
Dubois emerged as a solid role-player for West Fargo Sheyenne, using his athleticism and energy to compete against bigs much bigger than him. His outside shot comes and goes but if he can attain some consistency with that, he has a chance to really stand out.
Noel was a bench guy for Fargo Davies last year and provides good energy and defensive ability on the wing. He’ll score in transition and by effectively playing off the ball.
