Say what you want, but everyone knows who the top players are. I’m not interested in those prospects. Not today. I’m here to talk about the hidden gems. The players that are poised for breakout performances over the next couple months.
Shannon Grant (Alabama Celtics)- The 6’10 post player is poised to have a huge spring and summer. This kid has soft hands, eats up space, and is hard to keep off the glass. If Grant improves his body and stays on the floor… college coaches’ mouths will be watering.
Hayden Lamey (JBA Jayhawks)- Who doesn’t love an efficient shooter and scorer? Not to mention, Lamey has ideal size at 6’3 to play off the ball. Improving his on ball defense and playmaking should be his focus.
Chance Beard (Birmingham Thunder)- This kid has a high motor and is an excellent defender. He’s undersized at the 4, but Beard can play. He has shown an improved range and shooting touch early this spring.
Kane West (Nike Elite Stars)- West is a very intriguing prospect. He’s super young for his class at 16, but he plays like a man. West is a very active defender and rebounder. He also has the size and ability to play/guard both the 3 and 4.
Corey Boston (Georgia Kings)- This kid can go! Boston has jets and super quick hands. Coaches, he can pick anyone up 94 feet and he is an elite finisher in transition. Don’t be fooled by his size. Trust me.
