TerryTalks: Alabama Standouts Shine at GBCA Live

The GBCA Live period once again showcased some of Alabama's top talent as several programs traveled to compete against high-level competition. Throughout the weekend, a number of prospects showcased their talewnt by producing against quality opponents, displaying improved skill sets, and proving they can impact games in a variety of ways. His size and length immediately stand out whenever he steps on the floor. His ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting makes him a difficult matchup, forcing opposing bigs to defend well beyond the paint. However, his impact extends far beyond his outside shooting. Cannon competes on the glass, rebounds outside of his area, and consistently creates extra possessions for his team. He is an aggressive, high-confidence shot maker who never hesitates to take big shots, and he has the ability to heat up quickly when given even a small amount of space. He can score both off the catch and off the dribble, making him a constant threat whether he is moving without the basketball or creating his own offense. Offensively, he is a crafty three-level scorer who can create his own shot, attack gaps off the bounce, and knock down perimeter jumpers with consistency. His handle is advanced, allowing him to create separation while keeping defenders off balance. While he possesses the ability to knock down the three, his greatest strength may be his relentless downhill mentality. He attacks the paint with purpose, puts constant pressure on the rim, and forces defenses into difficult rotations. His size, strength, and physicality allow him to control the paint, where he rebounds aggressively and creates numerous second-chance opportunities. Offensively, he finishes through contact, and converts around the rim with strong hands and soft touch. He has a natural feel for the game, operates comfortably with the ball in his hands, and consistently makes quality decisions while running the offense. He is a capable three-point shooter who can punish defenses from deep, but he is equally effective creating off the dribble, getting into the mid-range, and making plays for teammates when help defenders collapse. His patience, court vision, and shot-making ability allow him to dictate offensive possessions while keeping defenses guessing.
