Thoughts: When looking for the best leaders in the 2020 class, we categorize this as physical and mental. You need to have the ability to keep things under control but still get your team going when you need to. Also, you need to have physical control over the game and will your team to a win.
Not many do it better than Nijel Pack and Simon Scherry. These two are prototypical in that regard and among the best options for their level. This ability alone will make them highly coveted on top of the fact that these are also two of the best shooters in the state.
Guys like Szilagyi, Gizzi, Thomas, and Jager also do this, maybe just a tick below but still well above average. Where things get a little more interesting is with guys like Wadding and Galloway. Both are tough and lead by example but maybe a little more on the quiet side. They show that just because you might not be a ball-dominant guard doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader.
