Matthew Schneider (#12 pictured lower right) is back with EAB this summer. Playing last summer with Zion Swader, Grant Slatten (#7), Matthew Sells, Jaylan Wetzel (#21), and others Schneider won multiple tournament titles in the spring. Last August 31st, Matthew Schneider answered questions about his 15u AAU season and then-upcoming sophomore season with Siegel.
Matthew shared a few minutes Saturday evening with PrepHoopsTN. Already holding a D2 offer, Schneider is a prospect likely to entice D1 scout looks very soon.
All of Schneider’s answers are bolded below.
How did your HS team improve from 16-12 to 20-12 in one season? And, what games were you most proud of your performances?
I think we had a lot more volume scorers this year than before it could be multiple people’s night any night. And for me personally I thought I played really strong in our district tournament as a whole just right timing I guess but we played really well together too and came up 4 points short of a district title.
What skills did you improve or notice improvement in during the last six months?
Scoring at all 3 levels. I think I said to you months back that’s what I needed. And my dribble pull up I worked on a lot more and finishing through contact as well as spot up 3.
What colleges have reached out to your coach(es) and/or parents regarding recruiting?
Missouri Western offered me. Liberty has reached out to my coach. Belmont briefly. And Belmont sent a letter of interest and spoke to Kansas State coach a little and multiple mid majors have followed me on Twitter but nothing directly to me from them.
What AAU team are you playing with this year?
EAB 16u Gold.
Now entering 16u AAU, what are you expecting to get out of this AAU season?
I would like to gain additional interest from more colleges and possibly offers but also keep getting better and have fun.
