Team Previews: Rome Elite

<p>One of the top programs in North Georgia, has a lot of firepower this travel season. Rome Elite, out of Rome, Georgia usually gets some of the top talent in Northwest Georgia. The team that has a lot of talent is the 11th grade squad.<strong> Jaylen Nelson 6-2 JR from Rome High,</strong> was 2nd team all region in 5A. Jaylen can score on all 3 levels and defend your best wing player. 2021 players also from Rome High <strong>Justin Ingram and Jay Wise</strong> are two glue guys for Rome Elite. Justin 6-3, has become explosive off the dribble and excellent rebounder. Jay Wise, can guard your 1-3 and if your not careful, he may dunk on you. Other juniors on this team, 3 point marksman <strong>Jatorian Ford 6-2</strong> Chattooga HS. <strong>Malachi Jackson 6-0 PG</strong> , natural leader on the court. <strong>DJ Frazier, 5-10 Cedartown</strong> , will get every loose ball, nice inside-outside game.<strong> Taji Hudson 6-6,</strong> who is also a QB for Cedartown High, will block shots and get every thing off the glass. Two sophomores on this team that are the key cogs to the success of this team. <strong>Jayden Johnson 6-4 Cedartown and Jeremiah Johnson 6-1</strong> also from Cedartown. Jayden, has the post game and the mid range game down pack. He also one of the top DB's in the state. He can guard multiple positions and handle the basketball like a Guard. Jeremiah, can also score on all 3 levels. He can play the 1 or 2. He will be one of the top scorers in the North Georgia next season. To top it off, this team has 4 stud seniors that makes it go for Rome Elite.</p> <p><strong>Zahquan Frazier 6-5 Southern Illinois football commit</strong> is the Draymond Green of the team, a stat stuffer. He can score, defend, rebound, pass, whatever you need. <strong>Kamen Brown Jr 6-3 Rome HS</strong> is the complete package. The quiet assassin is deadly from behind the arc. This unsigned senior will be signed real soon. <strong>Malik Stewart, 6-5</strong> unsigned senior from Rome is a rim protector and he runs the floor well. <strong>Kenon Dixon</strong> is the best player in the area. The unsigned senior from Coosa HS averaged close to 30 points a game this season.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The 15/16u group will be a good group of players as well. <strong>Jordan Johnson 5-10 FR</strong> will run the show for this group.</p> <p>Pair him with talented sophomore <strong>Kemp Edge 5-9 and Matthew Garrett, </strong>the backcourt is a solid group. <strong>Ethan Watson, has become a 3 point specialist for this group.</strong> <strong>Deandre Stephenson</strong> is also a key to the success of this team. The sophomore from Cedartown made big strides this past season. He is explosive with the ball.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The unsigned senior team, has big time players on the squad. <strong>Justice Hayes 6-3 Cass HS</strong> can score at will. He can also defend your best player. Will be signed real soon.<strong> Luke Goss 6-5 from Cherokee CO HS</strong> in Alabama is one of the most underrated players in the state of Alabama. He shoots the 3 ball well and has an array of post moves. This team has 4 deadly shooters. <strong>Xaxton Goodson 5-10 Calhoun HS, Barrick Wade 6-2 Darlington HS, Hunter Johnson 5-10 Woodland HS, and Christian Marcyz 6-1 Gordon Central HS</strong>, they can all change the game with their outside shooting.This team has an above the rim guy in the name of <strong>Jacquez Fountain. The 6-6 senior from Cass HS</strong> can play all 5 positions on the floor. He can also block shots and runs the floor well. Four other guys round out this group.<strong> Chris Thomas 6-0 Rome HS, Jalen Rawls 5-9 Lee Co HS, the explosive Quan Curtis 6-4 and 3 point specialist Dewayne Lockett 5-9.</strong></p> <p>Rome Elite will open up in some tune-ups before the play in the Battle of Georgia at Lakepoint Easter weekend.</p> <p>Rome Elite is a part of the Powerade Platform Circuit.
