Upper Level 16U Starts Day Strong
We caught Upper Level 16U against HD Basketball to begin Saturday action. Upper Level controlled from the tip. Their tenacious defense and transition scoring carried the day. They got steal after steal taking them the other way for scores. Tyree Gill is a lefty 2021 shooting guard that impressed. Pull up game, rebounded well, active defender with length, and scored in open floor. Darnel Naeole was a beast defender on the perimeter! I’saac Montgomery is a small and stocky point guard that created turnovers and went the other way for scores. Kyree Dunn is a rangy combo guard to track. Their big man Max Petrenko brought size on the backline at 6’7” where he rebounded in his area. Upper Level won 75-37.
Los Angeles Elite Premier 16U Rolls Behind Depth
Salt Lake Bounce jumped out early behind their dynamic guard play against Los Angles Elite. We came away impressed with shooting guard Talon Valdes who is a thin and wiry two guard with skill. He was most effective in the lane with floaters and making plays in the lane along with getting buckets in transition. Brayden Stoddard also contributed by knocking down shots from the outside. Los Angeles Elite Premier stormed back with a flurry. Ethan McCanless led the way with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Other players in double figures included Dylan Ferraro (12 points), KJ Bradley (12 points), and Isaac Deedon (10 points). Overall Los Angeles Elite won 66-45 behind a team effort where everyone knew their roles and executed them!
Powerhouse 16U Just As Impressive as 17s Last Night
Last night Powerhouse’s 17U squad defeated EYBL The Truth. Their 16U team might be even better! The positional size and length across the board was incredibly impressive. Their front line from 6’6” to 6’10” across the board with athleticism played above the rim all day long! Daron Holmes is a slashing combo forward that played above the rim in transition with thunderous slams. Plus rebounder. Jason Elder was also a game changer with his athleticism throwing down huge dunks from his long and lanky frame. Explosive first step getting to the rim. Inside 6’10” post Matur Dahl is a rangy post with good hands and the ability to finish. Excellent offensive rebounder. So much upside! Carter Van Hammond can block shots and convert in the lane at 6’9”. Their point guard Brett Hardt Jr. ran the show throwing great outlet feeds which many went for touchdowns on the other end! Excellent passing feel! They rolled over West Coast Flight Select 89-38.
Oops……LMBA Did It Again!
It wasn’t quite as easy as their win on opening night, but LMBA captured another win on Saturday at the PrepHoops Circuit behind their all-out pressure defense. It was a competitive game throughout against Gamepoint OC as both teams made runs and held leads at various points during the game. A big three by Tanner Grossman helped seal the win. The guard was lights out from triple in this game. Rodderik Junior once again proved to be a defensive ace and utility specialist that did anything and everything for his team on both ends. The best player for LMBA was once again Xakime Milton. Slick handling point guard has the ball on a string. Got wherever he wanted and scored in the lane. We came away impressed with Chris Fowler for Gamepoint OC 16U. The 6’5” power forward has mobility and versatility being able to score inside and out. Stretched the floor with his three point shooting and showed skill inside. Blake Davis is a power lefty wing that slashes and finishes through contact! Kyle Halk is a load inside on the boards at 6’6”.
