Patriot’s quick and crafty senior lead guard, who propelled a killer second quarter run that helped them defeat Marshall last night, evaluated his team’s performance and talked recruiting with Prep Hoops after the game.
PH: How would you evaluate today’s the team performance on a scale of 1-10?
HV: “I’d say probably a 10. Just the fact that we were sharing the ball, all our shots were going in, and we did a great job on their big man. I think all-around we played really well.”
PH: How would you describe your game for those who haven’t seen you play?
HV: “I just try and make plays whenever possible. Distribute, score, I try to rebound. I just try to do everything to help my team win.”
PH: What are some things you need to work on?
HV: “I’d say probably my defense and my passing. I feel like I can take my passing to another level and get guys open.”
PH: Was states the goal coming into the season?
HV: “Of course, yeah. We worked really hard during the offseason for this moment. Its been the goal from the start.”
PH: What do you think you’re going to need to do in order to make some noise in states?
HV: “I’d say move the ball, share the ball. When we do that, it spreads the defense out, and we are more likely to make shots. We also have to give it all on defense.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you right now?
HV: “Virginia Wesleyan, Catholic University, Marymount, and Wilson College.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
HV: “Everything. A leader, someone who will pass the ball and rebound.”
