The regular season is coming to close quickly. League races are heating up and there’s no shortage of massive games this upcoming week in the EDC and WDA.
Here are some of the big games to watch:
Fargo Davies vs. West Fargo Sheyenne – Tuesday, Feb. 12
This one was always going to be huge but with West Fargo Sheyenne losing to West Fargo last week, this one might get even bigger. For the Mustangs, it’s an absolute must-win for them if they want to clinch a share of the EDC title. They split with West Fargo and have already lost once to the Eagles. For the Eagles, it’s the first of two massive games with West Fargo schools this week and it’s an opportunity to all but knock the Mustangs out of the EDC race.
Devils Lake vs. Minot – Tuesday, Feb. 12
A rare non-conference game at the Class A level, Devils Lake hosts one of the better teams in the WDA in a game that could actually be a state-tournament game down the line. Both teams figure to fight for the last spot in their respective league for a state-tourney berth. It’ll be a good yin-yang matchup as Devils Lake has a very strong frontcourt while the Magicians have a terrific crop of perimeter players.
Mandan vs. Bismarck Century – Friday, Feb. 15
One of two terrific games on the docket for Friday night, the red-hot Bismarck Century Patriots take on Mandan, a team that has controlled the No. 2 spot in the WDA for most of the winter. The Braves have a tough three-game stretch to close the regular season and lost to Patriots earlier in the season. Both teams are seemingly playing their best ball now.
Fargo Davies at West Fargo – Friday, Feb. 15
This could very well be the game that decides who wins the EDC regular season title. Davies lost to West Fargo a couple weeks ago but the Eagles have very much been one of the elite teams in the state. The Packers have been ascending since the calendar flipped and turned in an impressive 15-point win over West Fargo Sheyenne last week. A win over the Eagles would give them a season sweep over the Eagles and all but ensure a league title.
