Semi-Final #1: Westminster Christian 50 vs. Bullock County 32
Defense was the story for the Wildcats from Westminster as they advance to 3A Boys State Championship defeating the Bullock County Hornets. They forced 21 turnovers and held the Hornets to 2-19 from the three-point line. The Wildcats’ senior leader, Auston Leslie, played out of his mind with 26 points and 6 rebounds. For the Hornets, they struggled to score the ball, but Cedric Nichols’added 13 points. The Wildcats’ defense better show out again in the championship as they face the red hot Plainview Bears.
Semi-Final #2: Plainview 74 vs. Prattville Christian 55
It was raining in the second semi-final of the 3A championship…inside. The Plainview Bears defeated the Prattville Christian Panthers on Tuesday and SHOT THE LIGHTS OUT. The Bears missed their first nine three pointers, but what do they always say? Shooters shoot. They continued to shoot and ended up with 15 threes for the game. They were led by Koby Tinker who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. For Prattville Christian, Cooper Meadows scored 24 points. Both teams had too many turnovers but the hot shooting of the Bears compensated immensely. This will be the Bear’s third straight trip to the championship game. They’ll have to shoot the lights out again if they do not want to be upset by Westminster Christian in the Finals.
