With his size and ability on both sides of the ball, Woodall could be a guy that sees some interest in him start to spike this year. Especially because of his prowess on the defensive side if the ball.
“I think I’m most useful of defense, usually I guard the other team’s best player and just try and bring high energy and make a play of the defensive end, take a charge or something like that,” said Woodall.
“I try and be a threat on offense and get open, we have a lot of really good passers on our team, I know if I get open they’ll find me.”
Midway through his junior season at Boise, Woodall is averaging 10 points, two assists and three rebounds per game for a team that has had to acclimated to their new roles compared to a season ago.
“We’ve had some growing pains, we’re a pretty new team, we graduated eight seniors last year. But I think we’re kind of hitting our stride here. Things are getting better, we’re starting to move better on offense, we have really good coach who’s been coaching us up on defense,” said Woodall. “Things are starting to look better, and we’re excited.”
He added: “We’ve kind of had a slow start but I don’t think that changes anything, our main goal is to make it to state and compete at state.”
When his junior season is complete, Woodall will play 17U ball with Boise Slam. He’s got “nothing major” coming in so far, just camp invites and things of that nature, “I’m just kind of starting off, looking at schools,” said Woodall.
“This summer, 17U is big, so I just want to get exposure, get better at what I’m doing and start talking to some schools.”
