Here is what we learned from the matchup:
Heritage Defense is Strong
Right from the jump, Heritage let it be known that they were not going to take a play off on the defensive end. All night, the Pride utilized their strong defensive play to force turnovers by the Potomac Falls’ guards.
Pace
The pace was a factor that determined which way the momentum swung. Heritage looked to push the ball and use their speed to get to the basket, while Potomac Falls leaned a bit more toward a balanced offense, as they were looking to feed the rock to their star forward, Ian Anderson.
Give the Ball to Ian
The Panthers had problems, especially in the first half, getting in a groove offensively. Seemed as though the offense worked best when the ball ended up in Anderson’s hands. He’s a naturally gifted scorer that proved why he’s the best player on the Potomac Falls roster.
Potomac Falls Length
In addition to Anderson, Potomac Falls has a ton of length. Due to the fact they had the advantage over Heritage, it was easier for them to drive to the lane with minimum dribbles, or even resort to a post-up on the block.
Notable Players:
Ian Anderson, Potomac Falls: The senior forward was the best player on the court. When he got the ball just above the foul line, he took his defender one on one and showcased his touch around the rim with creative finishes. Anderson finished the night with 25 points and a plethora of rebounds.

Moustapha Sene, Heritage: Senior guard stands at 6-foot-3 and he proved that he is a leader for the pride. Sene handled a lot of the ball handling responsibilities – distributing the ball and creating his own scoring opportunities. He ended with nine points.
