When speaking with Prock, he mentioned this is the smallest team he’s been on in his four years sporting a McLean jersey.
“This year, this is definitely the smallest team we’ve had in the years that I’ve been here,” Prock said. “So we do want to push it, go fast paced and then knock down open shots like we did against Marshall.
“We did a really good job moving the ball and then knocking down open shots.”

Including Prock, the Highlanders have nine seniors on the roster and have been playing with each other on the varsity level since their sophomore season. When watching a McLean game, you can tell how familiar they are with each other’s games, and with it being their last year together, they want to make the most of it.
“We definitely want to be in the conversation for a championship for district and then try to go as far as we can in regionals,” Prock said. “We have 9 seniors this year and 5 of us were playing as sophomores, so the expectations have always been pretty bad.
“We’ve all been waiting for this year.”
While playing with the NOVA Cavaliers this past spring and summer, Prock began hearing from Division 3 college programs up and down the east coast but has yet to make a decision. He is in search of a school where he can continue his basketball career while also receiving a top-notch education.
In the meantime, Prock is focused on the season at hand. He mentioned that he is working to improve his 3-point shooting along with his mid-range while continuing to get better on the defensive end of the floor.
Prock and the Highlanders return to action on Tuesday, December 11 when they travel to Clifton to take on the Wildcats of Centreville (2-2).
