Intro: Landon Moore (2021)
Bloomington 2021 point guard Landon Moore was a role player over the summer for the Illinois Wolves 15U, but stepped up into a starring role at the Chicago Elite Classic for his high school team. He was lights out from three shooting the ball going 5-8 from deep. Shot it with a ton of confidence stepping into his shot each time like it was going in. His game will need to continue to round out passing and scoring off the bounce, but it was quite a performance from the young central Illinois guard. Went for 19 points on the day.
We caught up with Moore to discuss his big outing at one of the premier events in the state.
“It was so fun. That might be the most fun game I have ever played in. The arena gave me a lot of energy from the start. I loved it.”
Moore is ready to step up into a bigger role as a sophomore for his Bloomington squad.
“I am excited. I have been waiting for this my whole life and coach said he needed a lot from me before the season.”
What was his experience like playing with the Illinois Wolves over the spring and summer on the travel team circuit?
“It was a great experience and I feel that helped me a lot. It was my first time going to big tournaments and seeing college coaches. It got me a lot better.”
