Contenders, Sleepers, & Prospects: Mid-Suburban League
We are now in the month of November and that means the season is almost here! With that being said we are looking across the state at various conferences and previewing the teams and players to watch! Today we dive into the Mid-Suburban League!
Pre-Season Player of the Year
Max Christie (Rolling Meadows)
This sophomore has a chance to be a truly special prospect. He is one of the top prospects in the state regardless of class and the #1 2021 in Illinois. At 6’5” the wiry sophomore had an advanced feel for the game already being able to score in a variety of ways, but is at his best with his lethal pull up jumper. Proved at USA Basketball mini camp to be one of the premier shooters nationally.
Team to Beat
Fremd is the favorite in this conference year in and year out. This season is no different. Long and lanky wings in Bryce Hopkins, Kayman Hopkins, and Donovan Amos will allow them to switch and have defensive versatility.
Sleeper Team
The two best prospects in the conference are only sophomores in Christie and Schaumburg’s Chris Hodges. If they can dominate as underclassmen they could give Fremd a run.
