Alabama 2021: 3 Sophomore Standouts
If you’ve watched the 2021 class, you are starting to see some stars emerge. This class has plenty of talent and potential. There are several players that are having breakout performances and lightbulb moments to start the season.
Riley Leonard (Fairhope): Leonard is a top 10 talent in his class. At 6’4, Riley can play the multiple spots on the floor and is a natural scorer. He can do it from all three levels. He makes plays for others and demands the opponent’s attention. This season, Leonard already has impressive games of 25-5-4 and 20-6-3 under his belt. With his size and offensive abilities, Riley will be a fun one to watch.
Jack Dorolek (Thompson): Dorolek is a solid player. Right now, he is around 6’0 – 6’1. He doesn’t wow you with athleticism, but he makes plays. Jack is a very good catch and shoot player. The threat of his outside shot opens everything else up for him. He doesn’t over penetrate. He rebounds well from the perimeter. The more Jack plays, the better he will get. Look for Dorolek to be a key contributor to the success of Thompson this season.
Trevon Ragland (Sparkman): Ragland is a 6’2 athletic combo guard. He has no trouble getting to the rim and finishing through contact. Right now, his biggest strength is his athleticism, which has translated well for his defensive efforts. He is a very good on ball defender, and Ragland rebounds well defensively. Known more for his slashing ability, Trevon will be a tough player to guard once he becomes a more consistent outside scoring threat.
