The Race for Mr. Basketball: Adam Miller
In this series we take a look at the potential candidates for Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois for this upcoming season. Here we profile Morgan Park junior guard Adam Miller.
Profile:
Miller is the top 2020 prospect in the state of Illinois. The junior has excellent size on the perimeter for the combo guard spot. Can play both on and off the ball which he will do this season for the Mustangs. Electric with the ball in the open floor weaving in and out of defenders. Also you have to love the way he finishes at the rim. Improving jump shooter as he showed this summer on the travel team circuit.
Odds to Win:
12/1
Why He Can Win:
He is the man now at Morgan Park. The torch was passed from Ayo Dosunmu to Adam Miller and it will be his show for the last two years of high school. Being the top junior in the state Miller has name recognition not just in Chicago, but around the state. Remember he is from Peoria originally. As always the Mustangs will be in contention for 3A and the Public League title. If he can post monster numbers against CPL foes Simeon, Whitney Young, Orr, etc he could make a run at this.
Obstacles to Win:
It is hard for juniors to win unless they are the clear choice. This will be Miller’s award to lose the following season for sure. He will have to share some of the spotlight in the backcourt with Marcus Watson who is one of the better point guards in the state in his own right.
