Top 250 Camp : 2022 Players
Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo rapped on Saturday in Myrtle Beach, SC. The event was pushed back one week after Hurricane Florence arrived in the Carolinas. Lets take a look at some of the youth in the event from the 2022 Class.
Devin Gillespie 6’1 – Cheraw HS (pictured on front)
Gillespie has seem to grown since we saw him last this summer playing with Team Wall Southeast – Marion. Gillespie was playing a lot of point guard today and was really finding the open man on the floor along with being vocal. Gillespie hit a few pull-up jumpers off the bounce in return. Gillespie has really good length and should see some quality minutes this year for the Braves.
Carlton Terry Jr. 5’9 – Conway HS
Terry Jr. was a teammate of Gillespie with Team Wall Southeast-Marion. Terry Jr. uses the ball screen well to find the open shot. Terry Jr. was able to penetrate the gap and dish. Terry Jr is the son of Conway HS Football Coach Carlton Terry. Terry Jr. connected on a few mid-range jumpers today.
Pedro Davila 6’2 – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville)
Davila is a slender-sleek athlete that really plays the passing lanes. Davila is a pogo stick on the floor. Davila is extremely active and never took plays off during the camp.
Kieran Leviner 6’3 – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville)
Leviner we first saw this summer at the Carvers Bay Summer League. Leviner likes to set up shots behind the line and in the corners. Leviner is a very quiet kid on the floor Leviner doesn’t have a conventional looking shot but it does go in.
Keyon Adams 6’2 – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville)
Adams is a long and athletic wing for the Bulldogs. Adams fills the lane in transition and has a very quick shot release. Adams plays very mature for his age on the floor and just being a incoming freshman.
Isaiah Howell 6’5 – Georgetown HS
Howell is a RAW talent but is already 6’5 entering the 9th grade for the Bulldogs. Howell should see action this season for Head Coach Mike Ford and the Bulldogs.
Tyvon Richardson 6’2 – The Georgetown School (Georgetown)
Richardson is a very slender left-handed forward. Richardson averaged 18 ppg last season for the Kingfishers. The Georgetown School has less than 50 boys in the school and plays in the SCISA 1-A ranks. Richardson must get stronger and add weight for the future.
Quantrelle Mathis 6’2 – Charleston Charter
Mathis plays in the post and really does a good job of moving and screening. Mathis is a blue collar kid that doesn’t mind drawing contact in the paint.
Zyaire Ivery 6’4 – Legacy Early College (Greenville)
Ivery has a great look already at such a young age. Ivery needs to play hard at all times but for sure as all the attributes to be a player. Ivery will rebound the ball outside of his area.
