Metro South Fall League 9/17 Standouts
DUMFRIES, VA — The Metro South Fall League got underway on Monday, and Prep Hoops was in the gym to take in a few games. Here we highlight five players that stood out during our time in the gym.
TREY BARER | 6’8 PF | CHRIST CHAPEL ’19
Trey Barber‘s best attributes are his shot blocking ability, mobility, touch, and versatility. At 6-foot-8, the fundamentally sound stretch four man can score inside and out. Barber played at the top of the press for Christ Chapel.
JADEN HIBBITT | 6’6 PF | JOHN PAUL THE GREAT ’19
Jaden Hibbitt is rangy a 6-foot-6 stretch forward with length and mobility. Hibbitt has nice touch from mid range, and a smooth pull up jumper featuring a high release to go along with good rotation.
JON HYLTON | 6’2 SF | OSBOURN ’19
One thing that we love about Jon Hylton is that he plays hard all the time. Hylton is listed at 6-foot-2, but has long arms and plays much bigger. He was active at the top of Osbourn’s press throughout the evening.
EVAN REED | 6’0 PG | FOREST PARK ’21
Evan Reed is a long lanky point guard prospect who sees the floor well, and is a solid primary ball handler. Reed has a good looking pull up jumper, and is clearly a skilled shooter who can fill it up in a hurry.
JAKHARI TAYLOR | 6’1 PG | POTOMAC ’19
Jakhari Taylor is an athletic, long-limbed guard who is a tenacious on ball defender. Taylor picks up full court at all times, and can also block shots. Offensively, he is an aggressive paint getter who seeks contact and can finish in traffic, but also has the awareness to set up his teammates.
