Josiah James and Recruiting News
The Carolinas are less than a week away from being hit by the devastation of Hurricane Florence. The Palmetto State especially along the Border Belt and in the Pee Dee are not waiting on rivers to settle down and constant flooding.
Josiah James decided today that he will play next season at the University of Tennessee. James #1 player in the 2019 Palmetto State Class decided on the Volunteers over Clemson and Duke. James 6’6 point guard led the Cyclones to a 3-peat last season in the SCISA 3-A State Tourney. James excelled over the summer with TMP on the Grassroots Circuit. James had over 40 college offers before deciding on the Volunteers.
Tre Jackson (2019) will take a official visit to Iowa State University this coming weekend according to Team South Carolina Coach Mike Alexander. Jackson recently visited Winthrop and Murray State. Jackson is ranked #4 in the 2019 Palmetto State Rankings.
Tommy Bruner (2019) will take a visit to the College of Charleston this coming weekend. Bruner 6’1 combo guard at Gray Collegiate is ranked #11 in the 2019 Palmetto State Class.
Ta’Lon Cooper (2019) earlier this week decided to end his recruitment. Cooper 6’3 will play in the Ohio Valley Conference at Morehead State University next season. Cooper played last season at Word of God (NC) but since has returned to play at Dorman HS this coming season. Cooper comes in the 2019 Palmetto State Class at #13.
Dorian Williams (2019) plans on taking a visit to Mars Hill (NC) (NCAA D2) according to Greenville HS Head coach Mike Anderson.
JaVon Benson (2020) has had a solid week before playing a game at Ridge View HS. Benson picked up scholarship offers from South Carolina State and USC-Upstate. Benson sat out last season after transferring from Westwood HS where he played as a freshman. Benson 6’7 played on the Grassroots Circuit with the Carolina Wolves.
