2020 PG Stock Risers
What 2020 point guards helped their stock the most with a strong July and saw their ranking boost accordingly? Here are the answers!
Ray’Sean Taylor (Collinsville)
Previous Ranking: #23
Current Ranking: #15
Taylor continued to elevate his stock after he built up helium during the high school season and spring. This scoring point guard can flat out put the ball in the hoop with his explosiveness and speed. Quality jump shooter and put on several shows with Gateway Illinois when I saw him in person.
Luke Scheffers (St. Charles North)
Previous Ranking: #52
Current Ranking: #43
Scheffers is one of those floor generals that grows on you the more you see him. High IQ guard that works well around ball screens and gets others involved. On a very talented Fundamental U 16U squad he was the one that directed traffic and made things happen with his passing.
Connor Dillon (Peoria Notre Dame)
Previous Ranking: #80
Current Ranking: #64
Dillon continues to impress. He isn’t the most physically imposing prospect with a thin frame, but this lefty combo guard has game! Plus shooter from beyond the arc and has sneaky explosion off the floor. Will be interesting to see how he develops over the next year.
Nate Shockey (York)
Previous Ranking: #128
Current Ranking: #88
Shockey was a beast in big games for Breakaway putting his team on his back and carrying them to a win over D1 Minnesota at Summer Challenge. Shockey is a gritty lead guard that can shoot it from deep.
Taaj Davis (Aurora Christian)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #89
Davis jumped on our radar with his play for HIT 16U. The 6’2” Aurora Christian point guard is a lefty that was relentless attacking downhill. Quick guard with acceleration in just a couple dribbles getting to the rim where he finished well. Intriguing guard!
