Recruiting Report: Qudus Wahab (2019)
Qudus Wahab, a class of 2019 center at Flint Hill, broke out on the Under Armour circuit while playing with We R1 this summer. The 6-foot-11 rising senior consistently demonstrated high level shot blocking and altering abilities to go along with a tireless motor and a steadily improving offensive skill set. Wahab has seen his recruitment expand as a result. LSU, Ohio State, Georgetown and Miami are among a handful of high majors who he’s received offers from since June. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, Wahab hinted that he will soon reveal a list with his current top 12 schools.
PH: What was the biggest thing you learned this summer playing with We R1?
QW: “This year with We R1, I learned how to be a better team player. I learned how to be a winner and the style of play of the team helped me improve my game.”
PH: What’s the most underrated part of your game?
QW: “The most underrated part of my game is my offense. I can step out and shoot the 3. My mid range shot is pretty good too.”
PH: How are your grades?
QW: “My grades are looking good right now. My GPA is a little over 3.0 right now. I look forward to making it better this school year.”
PH: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
QW: “Sometime this week or next week, I will release a list with my top 12 schools. Those are the schools recruiting me hardest.”
PH: What do schools tell you they like about you?
QW: “Schools tell me they like my energy and effort. My ability to finish strong, protect the rim, block shots. And how quickly I run the floor.”
PH: What are you working on?
QW: “I am working on all parts of my game. My face up game. Jump shot; back to the basket. Just trying to be a good all-around player.”
PH: Which schools are trying to get you on campus?
QW: “All the schools that is recruiting me hard wants me to visit. I am also planning of taking some unofficials this month.”
PH: What are your short and long term goals?
QW: “My short term goal is to pick a college that would be a nice fit for me. My long term goal is to keep getting better and stronger so I can play professionally.”
PH: How can you fit in at the next level?
QW: “I think I can fit well because I have the drive to be successful already. I feel that I would be a great pickup for whichever college program I select.”
