Program Awards: Kessel Heat
Now that the travel team season has wrapped up we dive into programs across the state looking at their teams in a variety of categories in our Program Awards! Today we examine Kessel Heat!
Program MVP
Jaeden Zackery (Westosha Central, WI)
Zackery is a shooting guard out of Wisconsin that has a burst with the ball in transition. Plus athlete that finishes well in open floor. Also can knock down a three on occasion. High motor wing that brings it every game! Without question he was the heart and soul of their 17U team!
Top 2019 Prospect
Zach Toussaint (Johnsburg)
The Baby Faced Assassin is the top in-state prospect for Kessel Heat in the 2019 class. This Johnsburg point guard has deep range on his three point shot with creative handles to match. Fun playmaking lead guard!
Top 2020/2021 Prospect
Scotty Ebube (Mundelein)
Ebube is probably the top overall prospect in the Kessel Heat program as he will be pushing for a top 10 spot in the next 2021 rankings. The 6’7” four man has strength on the interior and rebounds at a high rate. Tough post defender. Solid scorer around the hoop with a quick second jump for offensive rebound put backs.
Sleeper
Vuk Djuric (Lane Tech)
This Lane Tech big man is a versatile prospect that can play inside and outside. Quality athlete for how strong he is. Handles it facing up and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Beast area rebounder the snatches them at a very high rate. Soft touch around the hoop and has nice footwork. Face up ability being able to hit from mid-range.
Biggest Stock Riser
Brian Johnson (Glenbrook North)
Johnson is a gritty post that has a nose for the basketball. Competitive kid that rebounds in traffic. Also displayed his ability to stretch the defense with his three point shot during July with Kessel Heat 17U.
