Game Overview: Powerhouse Hoops Compton 15U
This weekend is jam packed with high caliber basketball, whether it’s at the Las Vegas Classic (Bigfoot) or the Fab 48 Tournament. Powerhouse Hoops Compton 15U has been on an absolute tear this summer. They easily beat teams due to their size and have gathered a lot of college coaches attention. Powerhouse Hoops Compton is led by DaRon Holmes, Matur Dhal, and Max Majerle. Powerhouse Hoops Compton 15U got off to a very quick start, winning the tip and going down for a dunk. This was a very good indicator of how the game would go on. Throughout the game, Holmes had complete control of the entire game.
Location: Las Vegas Classic (Bigfoot)
Opponent: Seattle Rotary Style Select
Holmes had a great game, leading his team to an easy win. His stat line was packed, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 5 blocks. This sort of stat line is something that I expect to come for Holmes. I could see him easily averaging a double-double in the upcoming high school season, maybe even getting a couple triple-doubles.
Max Majerle also turned in a great game. Max finished the game with 18 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Majerle showed off his great attacking ability and was able to finish through contact numerous times. Max also shot the ball extremely well, knocking down 3 threes.
Dhal was an absolute monster today. Everyone knows how great Dhal is on defense but today he brought both offense and defense. Matur finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. He is usually limited to the paint offensively, but today he really showed how expanded his game can become. He has a lot of potential and you should keep an eye on his going forward.
Score at half 40-18
