Recruiting Report: Taeyon Neal (2019)
Providence St. Mel 2019 center Taeyon Neal is a huge bodied post that at a legit 6’9” is a space eater on the interior. He plays physical and has a mean streak to him. Solid finisher. There are not a lot of guys as big as him out there though so he is intriguing.
Neal talked about his development as a junior.
“I improved in terms of my offense and defense. We had a much better team this year. Our other center left so I was the center of the offense. Overall I had a great season.”
It is going well this spring with Chicago Select 17U.
“We are winning and improving. We have added some new pieces. It has been good.”
How would he break down his game?
“I have a wide body so I use that to my advantage. I also have length so I use that on offense and defense. I bring the intangibles.”
UIC recently extended a scholarship to Neal.
“The fact that it is in Chicago. It is in my hometown. They have a good organization as far as developing bigs.”
