Senior Sunday: Recruiting Updates
Each Sunday in the winter we will be providing updates on a group of unsigned seniors from a variety of college levels and different parts of the state. Check out our latest Senior Sunday: Recruiting Updates!
Justin Boyd (Whitney Young)
The 3 and D specialist from Whitney Young continues to land offers and interest from JUCO’s and small college programs. Boyd has picked up offers from JUCO’s Florida Gateway, Kankakee, Des Moines Area, Southwestern Iowa, and Murray State College in the last couple of weeks.
Isaiah Saulsberry (Harrisburg)
Saulsberry continues to fly under the radar despite being a big time perimeter scorer. He tells us that he plans for visit Union in Jackson, Tennessee as well as Southwest Minnesota State who has shown a lot of interest in his services.
Caleb Strohmeier (Edwardsville)
This tough and versatile four man can score on the block and face up hitting pick and pop threes. Strohmeier tells us that he plans on visiting Ohio Dominican and Drury this spring. William Penn and Culver Stockton have also jumped in the mix.
Branden Ellis (Warren)
Ellis is a plus athlete that can also shoot it from three and score in transition. He tells us that Loyola has reached out to his high school coach. Siena is showing interest. West Texas and Davenport are a pair of D2 schools that are showing significant interest. Palm Beach has offered. He will visit them again this spring.
Josh Boulanger (Brother Rice)
This rangy wing is a plus rebounder that plays with a high energy level. He is a versatile forward. He visited Elmhurst last weekend. This weekend he was at St. John’s in Minnesota. Earlham in Indiana will get a visit coming up next weekend. He plans on committing sometime in April.
Paul O’Leary (Lemont)
The physical center from Lemont started playing like the player we saw in the spring before his injury. He is one of the top uncommitted centers in the state. O’Leary says his recruitment is picking back up with Northern Colorado, Miami (OH), and Old Dominion reaching out to him.
Justin Hardy (St. Charles East)
Hardy is one of the better prospects to come out of the Tri City area in recent memory. This skilled and tough combo forward says he is focusing on a couple schools at this stage in Washington University in St. Louis and St. Cloud State in Minnesota. Both will get visits and a decision is expected after that although he is still open to other schools.
Treavon Martin (Curie)
Big news early in the week as on Tuesday the state’s #5 power forward Treavon Martin decided to reopen his recruitment and decommit from Tennessee State per his head coach Mike Oliver. Martin is a tough defensive minded big man that rebounds well on the interior. Should draw low-major looks!
DeAndre Heckard (Romeoville)
The highest rated uncommitted point guard prospect in the state of Illinois picked up an offer from D2 Lewis earlier in the week. Heckard is looking to set up a visit to Lewis next week. He also says that Northern Colorado has been in contact with him. The senior also tells PHI that he will be playing again on the travel team circuit this spring to boost his recruiting stock.
Jared Crutcher (West Aurora)
The undersized four man with long arms has had a very productive close to his senior season producing big numbers with his athleticism and high energy. Crutcher decided to open his recruitment back up by decommitting from Loras where he committed a few months back.
