Recruiting Report: Antwan Kimmons (2019)
Tartan junior Antwan Kimmons scored 30 points on Monday leading Tartan to a big win over rival North St. Paul. Kimmons is having a big year leading his team in the three main categories.
Kimmons is scoring 20.6 points per game with 6.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists each night. When we viewed Kimmons versus St. Thomas we saw an aggressive playmaker who not only handled the basketball but was also the main scoring option after the ball was returned.
Kimmons scored 33 at Hudson, 38 at North St Paul in the January loss, 33 against St. Thomas, and 30 against Mahtomedi (and the recent 30 versus NSP). You will notice that Kimmons has had his top games against the best opponents the Titans have faced.
Schools are starting to make contact with Kimmons as he is also an excellent ball pressure defender and team position defender.
“In December Drake Head Coach Medved came to watch Kimmons vs Henry Sibley when he had 24 points,” said a member of the Tartan staff.
“In January Antwan took an unofficial visit to Drake. He’s getting new interest from Northern Illinois (assistant Jon Borovich is in contact), Middle Tennessee St. (assistant Greg Grensing), George Washington (Chris Holm) and Tulane (assistant Doug Stewart).
“All these coaches have been in contact after Antwan’s three 30+ plus point games.”
