Salem Invitational Preview
The Salem Invitational Tournament is coming up next week which is annually one of the better mid-winter tournaments in Southern Illinois.
This is always a chance to see some quality small college talent and players emerge halfway through the season. The headliner from a prospect standpoint is 2019 small forward Landon Wolfe. The junior broke out this summer and emerged as a top 40 player in his class. Mt. Vernon has an intriguing young wing in Amir Spann from the sophomore class. Edwardsville has a dynamic senior duo of Caleb Strohmeier and Jack Marinko which provide and inside/outside punch. Teutopolis and Centralia are two legendary programs in southern Illinois that play great team basketball. Host Salem has a trio of potential small college players in Damond Crosby, Dawson Linder, and Cord Brown. PrepHoopsIllinois will have coverage next week from the SIT!
