Recruiting Report: Branden Ellis (2018)
Warren 2018 guard Branden Ellis is one of the better unsigned combo guards available in the state. The senior brings big time athleticism and quickness to the table. Versatile guard that can handle the basketball and has the ability to get hot shooting. He is especially effective pulling up from mid-range and can spot up from three in transition. Finds soft spots in the defense and rises up to shoot. Acrobatic finishing around the hoop. Solid defender that projects as a guy who can guard the one and two at next level. D2 prospect.
He chatted with us about his season at Warren.
“I think I have been playing well. I have been trying to round out my game more. During the summer I relied mainly on spot up threes and transition. This year coach is trying to get me to attack more in the offense and get good shots to make a more well-rounded game.”
Ellis updated his recruitment.
“Brown came to see me at Pontiac. Palm Beach offered me. Schools have been calling and checking in. A lot of schools call my travel team coach Brian Burns. I’ve heard from Colgate, Drexel, American, and Eastern Illinois.”
Division 2 Palm Beach State extended an offer. What stands out about them?
“I really like the coaching staff. They are super nice. The campus is beautiful. They also have my major which is big.”
