Palmetto State : 5 Players to Follow
Region play has started around the Palmetto State and less than 2 months from now and the season will be over. Prep Hoops will take a look at 5 kids that you might not know much about around the Palmetto State.
Jordan Snell – Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS
Snell has the Bruins at 14-2 on the season under Head Coach Willie Thomas. The Bruins are fresh off a Sweet 16 Championship in which Snell scored 24 points in a 57-52 victory over Colleton County. Snell a catch-shoot guy can really hit shots from all around the floor. Snell played AAU with the Carolina Wolves.
Christian Kincaid – Spartanburg Christian
Kincaid and the Warriors are just 6-10 this season. Kincaid was injured this summer and came back to play this fall. Kincaid 6’4 is athletic to get to basket or sit back and knockdown perimeter jumpers. Kincaid has great grades in the classroom according to Head Coach Chris Arp.
Eric Moulds – Nation Ford HS
Moulds is averaging 10.2 ppg this season for the Falcons. Moulds a solid student in the classroom carries a 4.3 GPA. Moulds can keep the ball on the string and get to the rack. Moulds played AAU with the Fort Mill Spartans last summer.
EJ Porter – Florence Christian (Florence)
Porter is off to a fast start for the Eagles this season. Porter 6’3 is currently averaging 25.6 ppg on the season. Porter is a slender guard who can score the ball from mid-range out to the perimeter. Porter’s mother is the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Francis Marion University.
Quan’Daveon McCollum – Marlboro County (Bennettsville)
McCollum 6’4 helped the Bulldogs win the Comporium Christmas Classic at Andrew Jackson HS (Kershaw) before the New Year. The Bulldogs just (3-9) started the season at 0-7. McCollum throws his body around in the paint and plays very active on both ends of the floor. McCollum is currently averaging 20.2 pp and 8.6 rebounds this season.
