2019 Stock Risers
Prep Hoops takes a look at some players that have seen there stock rise this season. Here are some Stock Risers in the 2019 Class.
Crosby Harris-James – Ridge View HS (pictured on front)
Harris-James makes the Blazers offense go on the floor. Harris-James a point guard is averaging 17.7 ppg this season. Harris-James can create his own offense on the floor if that is shooting the ball on the perimeter or attacking the rack. Harris-James has stepped into the Blazers starting lineup and has contributed from Day 1.
Harris-James played AAU last summer with Upward Stars-Columbia.
Rashamel Butler – Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS (Ridgeland)
Butler 6’3 is a virtual down in Jasper County. Butler has his Jaguars squad at 18-0 on the season and ranked #1 in Class 3-A. Butler recently scored 37 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 8 assists in a victory over May River.
Butler is averaging 18.1 ppg this season. Butler really rebounds the ball for a guard and has a nice mid-range game.
Jamarvious Jones – Strom Thurmond HS (Johnston)
Jones 6’4 plays over in Edgefield County in Western South Carolina near the Georgia border. Jones recently scored 30 points vs Pelion. The Rebels play a big region game tomorrow vs Swansea for 1st place. The Rebels are currently 10-9 on the season.
Jones has great length and really plays well in a up-tempo style of play. Jones a athletic small forward is a virtual unknown in most parts of the Palmetto State.
Jamal Edmonson – Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville)
Edmonson 6’5 is currently in his 5th year of varsity basketball. We first saw Edmonson play as a 6’3 8th grader at then Stall HS. Edmonson moved over to Northwood Academy where he played 3 seasons for the Chargers and also repeated the 8th grade in the process.
Edmonson has the Swamp Foxes currently 12-6 on the season and 5-5 in region play. Edmonson is averaging 20.6 ppg and 8.2 rebounds this season. Edmonson really has not grown since his freshman season and likes to play-out on the perimeter. Edmonson ran AAU with Game Elite Black this past summer.
