Recruiting Report: Cam Burrell (2018)
Energy 6’6” 2018 combo forward Cam Burrell is off to a hot start during his senior year! He flies around all game on the offensive glass for second chance opportunities. This is what he brings to the table as a prospect at the next level. Energy forward that crashes the glass and gets offensive rebound put backs. Most of his points come in this fashion. Also gets an occasional dunk off an out of bounds play and hits a mid-range shot every now and then. Not really skilled, but makes an impact with his energy level. Could boost his stock to the D2 level if he continues this strong play.
He talked about his hot start to the season.
“Individually I think I am playing good. With Tamell (Pearson) going down I have to pick up the pace and grab more rebounds. Nobody can stop be on the glass.”
What does he bring to the table as a player?
“I play with a lot of energy crashing the glass and getting offensive rebounds. Make open shots when I can.”
Burrell broke down where he has improved the most.
“The biggest area I have improved is on ball defense and making mid-range jump shots.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“Nothing much. I only have an offer from Chicago State.”
He says he isn’t in consistent contact with Chicago State at this stage. What will he be looking for in a school?
“A good relationship with the coach and somewhere I can play right away.”
