Northstar Weekly Honors: Henry Abraham
Sophomore Cambridge-Isanti guard Henry Abraham had 27 points with 6 threes vs. Irondale and 25 with 4 threes in win vs Andover during the week of December 11–17. Just like how he helped the Bluejackets to an undefeated record by that point, the Cambridge-Isanti community helped him to a narrow Northstar Weekly Honors victory over Carter Henry of BOLD. Both candidates had over 3,000 votes, but Abraham edged Henry by roughly two percent of the total vote.
And although C-I’s undefeated season was spoiled by a Forest Lake loss this week, Abraham reached a big milestone during that game: he logged his 1,000th varsity point as just a sophomore, the first in his class across the entire state.
“The season for my team is going good this year,” Abraham told NHR. “We are 5-1 so far and a great shooting team. For myself, I have stepped up my game and have been a leader to the team. Overall I think my team can make a state run this year.”
Abraham gets a large amount of his points off of three-point makes; he’s been sinking them for the Bluejackets for years.
“I’m pretty sure I’m shooting about 45 percent (from the perimeter),” he added. “My teammates set me up by screens… ball screens and off ball screens.”
Henry and the Bluejackets play next on Thursday, December 28 versus New Prague. Thanks to Intensive Basketball Camps for sponsoring this weekly award!
