Lincoln Jorde: Unstoppable So Far
Sully Buttes is 2-0 so the season is very young but future Northern State center Lincoln Jorde has been unstoppable so far.
Lincoln threw down a pair of nasty dunks and scored 27 when the Chargers hammered Lyman in the season opener followed by a 63-49 win over a tough Winner team when Lincoln had 19 points.
What has Lincoln worried his team after two games?
“So far this year I’ve learned that the players on our team are willing to fill whatever role they’re asked to in order to win,” Jorde said. “I think that our biggest challenge is going to be to withstanding the grind of a long season and staying healthy.”
The season is a grind but the good thing for the Chargers is that they have the 6-foot-9 agile post doing damage in the paint. With that being the case the goal is to be the best.
“My only goal, team or individual, is to win a state championship this year, and I’m pretty sure that’s the goal of everyone on the team,” said Lincoln.
When the year is over Sully Buttes will send Lincoln to play for Northern State but for now, the entire focus of Jorde is on having the best season possible. So far so good.
“Northern is fun to watch. They’ve been playing really well, but I’m just focused on the rest of the high school season.”
