Tuesday Night “Chucktown” Performances

Ephraim Butler scored 19 points to help Berkeley HS defeat Fort Dorchester HS 53-39. Butler (2018) point guard led the Stags in scoring while Ishawn White and Trevur Smalls both chipped in 10 points a piece.
Romello Grant remains on a terror for the Stall HS Warriors. Grant (2019) scored 31 points in the 90-50 blowout win over Burke HS. Grant a slasher deluxe has no true position on the floor except the word “Warrior” which is a bonus since he plays for a high school with that nickname. Jalen Bailey (2019) added 19 points and Bryan Ward (2018) chipped in with 15 points.
Maliek Brown (2020) helped Palmetto Christian to a easy victory over Faith Christian 63-21 with 18 points.
Jalen Slawson and his Pinewood Prep teammates had zero problems with Laurence Manning Academy 85-41. Slawson a Furman signee recently went over 1,000 career points and finished the night with 25 points. The Panthers 5-1 got scoring from Walker Lima (2018) with 16 points, Cohen Gaskins (2021) 11 points and Ja-Saun Pryor (2019) added 10 points.
Mark Mazyck led the the Summerville HS Green Wave with 21 points in a a 67-58 victory over Cane Bay HS. Shaquan Davis (2018) added 20 points for the victors. Davis recently came off a very good football season as wide receiver for the Green Wave.
The Porter Gaud Cyclones stayed perfect at 5-0 heading into a big game Friday vs Spartanburg Day. The Cyclones defeated Wando HS 60-40 over at the Chophouse in Mount Pleasant. Jake Lanford a Yale signee scored 19 points and Aaron Nesmith added 11 points along with Josiah James (2019).
North Charleston manhandled new school Phillip Simmons 101-26 in the season opener. Dawjawan Brown (2020) scored 17 points for the Cougars in the victory. Brown was a All-Region performer last season for the Cougars while averaging 16.2 ppg. Brown played this past summer with Big Shots South Carolina 15U.
