Recruiting Report: Dallin Spencer (2018)
With one JuCo offer in tow, 6-foot-6 forward Dallin Spencer is heading into his senior season at Lehi ready to add to his list.
Grays Harbor in Aberdeen, Washington is the first school to offer the versatile stretch-four, and there’s several more programs showing interest.
“I’ve had interest from Carroll College in Montana, and a lot of other NAIA and JuCo schools,” said Spencer, who mentioned he’d be eager to play JuCo ball.
“JuCo is a big goal, because the end goal is to play at the highest level I can, and as long as I can. So, JuCo would give me that opportunity to play two years and then go take a shot at D1.”
He added: “So, the goal is to go out my senior season and get as many offers as I can. Then, probably commit in the spring to the school that best fits me.”
Whatever program lands the talented senior, will nab a versatile combo-forward with a do-it-all mentality.
“I’m a good rebounder, I can stretch the floor and hit the 3, I can attack off the dribble, and I can defend the wing or the post. And right now, I’m just trying to improve my lateral quickness,” said Spencer, who spent his spring and summer with Club Utah 17U.
“It was a good offseason. My role on that team was to be a primary go-to guy. I had to score a lot and rebound a lot for our team to be successful. And it was good, we played in a lot of tournaments and we all got better.”
Now, Spencer is heading into his senior season with the Pioneers with a full of steam, and a desire to lead.
“With my team this year, I’m expected to be the leader on and off the floor,” he said. “My role will be to rebound for the team, and take the ball inside and outside, and just help us win.”
